The WATERVILLE-ELYSIAN-MORRISTOWN Board of Education on Feb. 24 rescinded Policy 522 as revised in 2024 and approved a package of policies recommended for adoption.
June Rezac moved and Brenda Heuss seconded a motion to rescind the 2024 revision of Policy 522 (Title IX Sex Nondiscrimination Policy, Grievance Procedure, and Process); five members voted in favor and Jay Schneider stepped away from the table during the vote. The board then approved five policies by motion including: 415 (Mandated Reporting of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults); 522 (Title IX Sex Nondiscrimination Policy, Grievance Procedure, and Process) based on the 2020 Final Rule; 527 (Student Use and Parking of Motor Vehicles) and related form; 528 (Student Parental, Family, and Marital Status Nondiscrimination); and 614 (School District Testing Plan and Procedure). The approvals were recorded in the meeting minutes as passed.
Board minutes list the policy numbers and that attachments were available; the minutes do not include full policy text or the operational changes tied to each approval. The board also approved non-substantive corrections to policies 503, 507.5, 606, 606.5, 613 and 615 in a separate motion.
