WEM board approves $2.18 million January–February financial report

The WATERVILLE-ELYSIAN-MORRISTOWN (WEM) Board of Education on Feb. 24 approved its January–February financial report, which showed bills and payroll totaling $2,184,926.62, deposits of $973,475.54 and transfers of $1,000,000.00. The motion to approve the report was made by Jon Bakken and seconded by Jay Schneider; six members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Business Manager Margaret Jewison presented the report to the board. Board member Jon Bakken commented on a new format in the financial report related to the expenditure-comparison report, a change meant to make year-over-year spending clearer. The board did not specify which member did not vote on the item. The approval keeps the district’s fiscal operations on schedule as staff prepare budgets and expenditure plans for the coming year.
