Staff reports utilities commissioning progress, seven-day functional test expected; Dan Lewis hired as director of utilities

Staff updated the committee that onsite commissioning work continues and that the district is preparing for a seven-day functional test with the state to exercise outage scenarios and other contingencies ahead of turnover.
"That test is comprised of... we want you to model some different scenarios with power goes out. We want you to do some different things and see how that responds," a staff member said, explaining the purpose of the functional test. Staff emphasized the contractor (Thompson) remains responsible to get systems to functioning condition prior to contract closeout and that staff are training to operate the system afterward.
HR staff also reported that Dan Lewis has been hired as director of utilities, internal recruitment for the utilities superintendent position is open and interviews are underway for finance roles; seasonal golf staff onboarding is planned for early May.
