Dr. Candace Burkhardt, Director of Student Services, led the committee’s annual review of policy #506 on student discipline. She reported minor wording changes were made to the policy to reflect recent statute changes concerning student resource officers and told the committee the policy’s addendum outlines the grievance process. The minutes note that a Notice of Separation sample developed by MSBA appears on the district website as a reference.
Burkhardt said the review included input from Dean Terrell, Principal Ochacki, Principal Bretoi and Vice Principal Sexauer. The committee recommended the updated language for committee approval; the minutes do not record a formal roll-call vote by the Policy Committee.
