Selectmen establish veterans graves committee and approve Phase 5 of Stafford Wall of Honor

Richard Schafer, who introduced himself with his address, described the state designation and funding mechanism for cemetery work and said Stafford should create a committee to catalog veterans' graves, improve maintenance and serve as a public resource. "I'd like to see a complete list of all the veterans graves," Schafer told the board.
Elizabeth Dunay presented a concept plan for Phase 5 of the Stafford Wall of Honor to list veterans omitted from earlier phases, including Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers, and proposed committee members and a three‑year term (Jan. 1, 2027–Dec. 31, 2030). The board approved establishing the Wall of Honor Phase 5 committee and the proposed membership.
Board members asked staff to follow up on funding and administrative details, and the board directed the committee to coordinate with town offices on meeting logistics and record keeping.
