Cooper Lane culvert project requires about $500,000 local match; town to split costs with state

The board heard details on Cooper Lane (Route 1400.5), where Public Works Director John said three existing pipes will be replaced with a new box culvert and the project requires a town match of roughly $500,000.
"That is a local a state local bridge project. So that's a 50 50 match between us and the state to do that cover," John told the board, adding the project is in design and tentatively scheduled around 2028. He said the small dam upstream is not town property and will not be altered as part of the culvert replacement.
John said he and the finance director are identifying where the town match will come from and that he will keep the board updated as design progresses.
