The Hill City school board voted to contract with ISD 318 (Grand Rapids Area Schools) to provide leadership services for Community Education beginning July 1, 2025 and running through June 30, 2026. The contract stipulates that District 002 will pay District 318 $4,200 for leadership services and will cover expenses incurred by District 318 while providing those services where not charged to Hill City’s Community Education budget.
District 318’s obligations include administering General Community Education, Adult Basic Education (part of the AEOA consortium), Youth Services/Development, Youth Enrichment and Targeted Services; preparing required reports and attending the Community Education Advisory Council. The contract requires District 318 to monitor the related 04 fund budget categories and to help ensure compliance with Community Education law. The motion passed unanimously among members present (4–0).
