The Stony Creek board on April 22 approved a professional-development request allowing Kassidy Millen, the district's TK/Kindergarten teacher, to attend the Frog Street Curriculum Conference in Texas. Superintendent Emily Pendell presented the request and summarized the costs: “The estimated cost for registration, lodging, and related expenses is $1,723.”
Pendell said the district will cover travel expenses from the Educator Effectiveness Grant, which has a current balance of approximately $18,500; the total trip cost including estimated airfare is expected to be slightly over $2,000. Trustees praised Miss Millen’s commitment to professional growth; the board voted unanimously to approve the request (Motion: Delana Martin; Second: Cathie Bodecker).
