The Odessa School District is advancing a Solar Energy and Clean Energy project after Superintendent Steve Fisk reported the district is in phase one of a $2.23 million grant. Fisk said the project’s completion target is June 2027 and that the district anticipates annual savings of up to $30,000 if the project proceeds as planned.
Operations Supervisor Justin Parr said he is reviewing the grant with Custom Energy and that E-Commerce and the selected installers will conduct a walkthrough of district facilities soon. Parr also noted that bus-driver availability for spring sports is an active concern for operations planning. The grant work and installer coordination are being tracked by district operations and are expected to be significant to facilities planning through 2027.
