Odessa School District board elects officers, appoints committees in reorganization

The Odessa School District Board of Directors conducted its annual reorganization during the Jan. 28 regular meeting, electing Chris Crossley as board chairman and Carmen Weishaar as vice chairman. Sheena Starkel was chosen as the board’s legislative representative and Zach Schafer as the WIAA representative; all positions were approved in roll-call votes that were recorded as unanimous 5-0 outcomes.
Superintendent Steve Fisk opened nominations and the board confirmed committee assignments: Facilities will be served by Zach Schafer and Carmen Weishaar; Curriculum by Chris Crossley and Nicholas Sebesta; and Negotiations by Zach Schafer and Sheena Starkel. The board then voted to approve the committee appointments, again by a 5-0 roll call. The reorganization and committee slate set the board’s leadership and working groups for the coming year.
