Council authorized submission of an application to Erie County for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds up to $100,000 to cover a portion of stormwater repairs in Municipal Lot #1. Councilor Steadman moved to approve submitting the application and Councilor Osborn seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips reported prior discussions with the borough manager and solicitor recommending Mansfield fill a sinkhole, replace approximately 10 feet of pipe and install a new catch basin before smoke-and-dye testing can proceed. The council directed staff to solicit quotes from JT Patching and Paving and Cross Paving to pave the repaired area and the catch-basin area in Municipal Lot #2; business owners and the Union City Volunteer Fire Department will be notified before smoke testing is scheduled.
