New City Parks outlines $3M plan to revitalize DePuy Park, eyes pool grant

"We were successful in being awarded the grant in December" Nye said, noting the grant will be used to refurbish courts, improve pedestrian circulation, and install a pavilion and wayfinding.
Harvey outlined additional financing prospects including a potential NPR (state parks) grant of up to $1,000,000 and a federal National Park Service pools grant for underserved communities that could help fund major pool work. She said preliminary engineering suggests pool replacement costs could be in the $6–8M range and emphasized that pool funding and pool engineering will follow a separate timeline. Board and council members asked about trail connectivity to Blue Mountain Reservation, pedestrian circulation, phased construction timing (bids anticipated fall 2026 and construction in early 2027 if grants align), and coordination with county partners. Staff said they will return with more detailed phasing and contract timelines once bid awards and additional grant results are known.
