At the Oct. 4 meeting the city manager reported the contractor on the canal-dredging contract has not resumed work and remains unable to access the BU site. "Still, the contractor is, still unable to get to the BU site and is still not, getting back on the project, as a whole at as of yet," the manager said.
Engineering staff provided preliminary information but had not yet reviewed it sufficiently to make a recommendation, the manager said. The manager also noted that the bracing materials seen on site are not intended to remain as permanent marine use, and asked the public to check tags on the wood if they have questions. No schedule for resumption of work was provided during the report.
