Linda Pierce, a retired nurse and member of the advisory board for Stroke Buddies and Friends, described the group's monthly meetings and invited Westport residents to participate.
"It's a very good organization where a lot of people get information of gadgets that they can use, and and it's not just about strokes. It's about people with any disabilities," Pierce said, explaining that members meet monthly to share experiences and practical tips.
Pierce said she has continued with the group after retiring from nursing and encouraged anyone with questions or concerns to attend the meetings and be part of the group. Lisa and other commission members framed the group as a community resource connected to the commission's outreach work.
