Board approves first reading of multiple policy updates from OSBA August 2023 set

The Cascade Board approved the first reading of several policy updates drawn from the OSBA August 2023 suggested updates, marking the start of the district's work to process policy changes suspended earlier during the district's Policy Rewrite Project. The motion to approve first readings was moved by Jon Remy and seconded by Aaron Lee and passed unanimously.
Superintendent Drill said the link to the suggested updates had been provided to the Board and explained that quarterly updates had been suspended while the district completed its policy rewrite; this session begins processing the August 2023 items. The policies listed in the first reading include EFA (local wellness), family medical leave variants, paid family medical leave insurance policies and others; the minutes list the policy codes approved for first reading.
