Wayzata board reviews monthly finances, accepts $18,575 in donations

The Wayzata Public Schools Board of Education reviewed finance reports and acknowledged October contributions totaling $18,574.78 during its Nov. 12 regular meeting. Finance staff presented an itemized donations list that included PTO reimbursements, field‑trip grants and scholarship gifts and asked the board to accept them under Minn. Stat. § 465.03.

Executive Director of Finance and Operations Scott LeSage walked the board through the district's detailed check register and electronic payments. The packet shows total checks issued of $11,326,235.00 for the period covered and a wires/EFT/ACH summary with a total value of $11,948,703.90 for the month cited. LeSage noted that large line items include LTFM capital contractors, food service vendors and district utility and payroll transfers.

Why this matters: the reports provide transparency on district operating and capital disbursements and the gifts acceptance allows program staff to use donor funds. The finance materials were presented as consent agenda items for board approval; the board packet included the full vendor list and the statutory citation for accepting gifts.
