Council awards fire training facility contract; majority funding cited as federal appropriation
Summary

Chief Moore explained the RFP process for a burn training facility: the RFP was advertised and four proposals were received; Forge Fire & Company was the responsive, responsible low bidder and staff recommended award. Chief Moore said the project is funded primarily through a federal appropriation and that the town’s share is the difference between the awarded contract and the federal funding.
A councilmember asked what the town’s required match would be; Chief Moore said the town’s portion was the difference and that surrounding agencies will be able to use the facility. After discussion the council voted to accept the award to Forge Fire & Company.
