Chief reports 25 calls in month; two captains announce retirements

The chief said the lieutenant promotion process is underway with four applicants who have completed initial steps and scheduling for later stages is in progress.
The report also listed recent community outreach: the department hosted about 50 kindergarten visitors for station tours and supported an American tribute ride of roughly 175 motorcyclists. There were no donations to report.
Board members asked clarifying questions about inspections and the recently completed alarm testing at the welcome center; the chief said the system is currently functioning after vendor work and that the district had addressed a serious life-safety concern.
