At the Jan. 6, 2025 organizational meeting, Independent School District 761 designated outside law firms to serve as official legal counsel and appointed the superintendent as deputy treasurer. The board moved and seconded a motion to designate Dorsey & Whitney and Ratwik, Roszak & Maloney (and others as needed) as the district's legal counsel; the motion carried unanimously.
The board then appointed its Superintendent to serve as Deputy Treasurer to assist the elected Treasurer with responsibilities for district funds. The appointment was approved by unanimous vote and assigns administrative support and continuity to the Treasurer's functions.
