The Board approved revisions to Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5141.4 (Child Abuse Reporting) to align District policy with the latest CSBA sample policy and recent state legislation.
Dr. Chuck Pirtle II presented the Comprehensive School Safety Plans for all nine school sites, describing required components, annual review processes, emergency preparedness and collaboration with school site councils. The Board approved the safety plans (motion: DeFigueiredo; second: Jellings) and the updated BP/AR 5141.4 (motion: Chase; second: DeFigueiredo), each by a 5-0 voice vote. Board members asked about mandated reporter training for volunteers; Dr. Randall stated that "the volunteers in our District are never alone with students."
