Kliewer also flagged structural issues at Gilchrist School and asked whether an asserted federal takeover of the town of Gilchrist could affect school operations; Szymoniak said he was not aware of any federal takeover or any related impact on school operation. A Ferguson Elementary teacher, Domingo Arriola, asked about the likelihood that an eight-classroom construction project at Ferguson would be approved; Szymoniak said a construction project of that size "would likely take two years to complete," and he suggested modular classrooms as a faster short-term option while noting a preference for permanent construction.
Staff said the facilities project list will appear on the March regular meeting agenda as an action item and that a copy of the project list would be attached to the board packet at the conclusion of the meeting.
