Village staff cite large unbilled water volumes; billing and meter data under review

He said a 2023 manual comparison found almost 2.5 million gallons that were not captured in billing, and that the wastewater plant receipts closely match purchases, suggesting losses occur between meters, automatic readings and the billing system.
Denuit recommended bringing the data and findings to the village's contractor (Delta) for review and has handed off notes to interns for digitization and cross-checking against the new GIS data. Interns and staff reported they will prioritize institutional buildings where odd readings are concentrated and continue reconciling the meter inventory against billing records.
