An OHS staffer said, "We are currently, fully funded for another full year...These funds will go until October 2027." The staff noted that the funded amount would come from existing Metro lines and that future budget cycles offer an opportunity to formalize any long-term commitment.
Members pushed for mechanisms to preserve Commission oversight if COC dollars stop funding HMIS/CE. One member recommended an MOU or a council resolution to preserve reporting and oversight; another warned that conditioning the PEC's ranking vote on an MOU under the tight timeline could jeopardize HUD deadlines. OHS staff repeatedly said they would comply with "whatever the will of this body" and emphasized HUD still mandates HMIS and CE processes even if COC funding shifts. The Commission did not adopt a formal MOU or resolution at the meeting; members acknowledged the need for follow-up work.
