Court approves 30-day lease termination with Texas Tech for medical examiner building

The court authorized the county judge to sign a 30-day letter terminating the lease agreement with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for the Medical Examiner's building. Judge Parrish said the 30‑day termination notice will run and the lease will terminate as of Feb. 16, in advance of the county's planned move into a new facility.
"This termination agreement, it's what we call the, the 30 day letter. That will go out, and that will terminate as of February 16," Judge Parrish said. Bamby Trevino of the medical examiner's office confirmed the office is preparing for the move and expressed excitement about the new facility.
