Court authorizes interlocal agreement with University Medical Center for medical examiner services

Bamby Trevino of the medical examiner’s office requested approval of an interlocal cooperative agreement between the county and University Medical Center to provide medical examiner services and to assist with decedent handling and any additional needs. The court authorized the county judge to sign the agreement, which will replace a prior interlocal that the court said was abolished as of Jan. 1.
"We request approval for a contract between our office and University Medical Center to assist them with examination services and any body, overage assistance that they might need," Bamby Trevino said. County officials noted the authorization precedes a move into a new facility planned for mid-February.
