Tax office reports December hotel and short-term rental collections

Jasmine Sanchez of the Lubbock County Tax Office presented December collections for hotel and short-term rental taxes, saying hotel receipts totaled $214,214.48 and auto-related collections $73,754.13 for a combined monthly total of $287,968.61. Sanchez reported the fiscal-year total at $4,335,741.12 and that the new bank account held $23,200,535.14 in deposits through Dec. 31.
"Total deposited into the new bank account through December 31, $23,200,535.14," Sanchez reported, and she noted the fiscal-year total was up about 3% from the prior year. The court accepted the report and had no questions for the presenter.
