Court approves fraud-notify module for county clerk records

The Lubbock County Commissioners Court on Jan. 12 authorized the county judge to sign a quote with Tyler Technologies to add a fraud-notify module to the county clerk’s records management system. Judge Parrish described the tool as a name-matching notification service intended to alert registered members of the public when documents matching their recorded name are indexed.
“The public goes on to the website and they register whatever name, they go by officially,” said Miss Pinion of the county clerk’s office, explaining that “the system will match the names and then notify a member of the public that there's a document they might want to come and look at.” County staff said the fee for the service will be paid from records preservation and archival funds. The court voted to authorize the county judge to sign the quote, and the motion carried.
