Milton-Freewater Unified SD 7 on June 9 adopted the superintendent's written decision and declined further action on a complaint filed by Mayra Truax against an administrator and an employee. The motion, made by Kelly Kessler and seconded by Mary Gutierrez, included a separate direction that the superintendent review the student's expense account status to ensure the account is correctly accounted for and resolved. The board recorded the motion as unanimously approved.
The action followed an executive session conducted under ORS 192.660(2)(b) and (f) to consider complaints and exempt records. The board delegated authority to Board Chair Tim McElrath to issue the written decision required by the district complaint procedure (KL/GBM/JFC-AR). The minutes show the board approved the superintendent's written decision as the final board determination and added the administrative direction to reconcile the expense account.
