Sheriff details restructuring and increased investigative staffing; patrol emphasizes community policing

Sheriff Bill Greenwalt told the board on July 23 that the Sheriff’s Office has undergone organizational changes in recent months, including promotions and leadership restructuring in patrol and investigations to address investigative workload and service delivery. He highlighted the ongoing commitment to the School Resource Officer program and collaboration with local, state and federal partners.
Lieutenant Matt Owens said the Investigations Division has been assigned additional deputies to meet increasing investigative demands and described continued collaboration with the DEA and ATF. Lieutenant Schrader, overseeing Patrol, said deputies will emphasize community policing by making more personal contact with residents and listening to neighborhood concerns to improve safety and quality of life.
