Friends of Moore Memorial Library asks Texas City residents for book and DVD donations

Rita Waldrop, treasurer of the Friends of Moore Memorial Library, urged residents to donate used books, DVDs and other items to support summer reading and other library programs. She said the group relies mainly on proceeds from used-media sales and an annual three-day spring book sale, and that membership dues are $10 per year. "We are not for profit corporation that raises funds for the local library by sponsoring various programs such as the summer reading program," Waldrop said.
Waldrop provided a contact email for donations (friendsofthelibrary2026@gmail.com) and said volunteers staff the sales and help at library events. She asked residents to join the friends group or bring donations to Moore Memorial Library to support local programming.
