Chenoweth Elementary seismic retrofit underway; front office relocated during work

Work has started on the seismic retrofit of Chenoweth Elementary's gym and other repairs, including roof/water remediation and a new secure entry; weekly construction meetings with Griffin Construction are ongoing.
Superintendent Dr. Carolyn Bernal reported that seismic-retrofit work at Chenoweth Elementary has begun and that the project includes a gym seismic retrofit, roof and water-damage repairs, office redesign, and installation of a new secure entry system. Weekly construction meetings are held with Principal Rendell and Griffin Construction (project leads Matt Hamill and Aaron Weatherall).
During construction the front office will be temporarily relocated; administrators expect the project to finish before the start of the next school year. The superintendent said the district is meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. with project staff to monitor progress and to ensure student safety and minimal disruption.
Board members asked for regular updates; staff committed to return reports to the board as milestones are reached and to notify families about any operational changes caused by the construction.
