Tipton to seek RFP for East Treatment Plant blowers and clarifiers

Jim said he has asked Strand Associates to prepare a request for proposal to study the East Treatment Plant blowers and clarifiers and help with procurement. "The blowers have anywhere from 15 to 25 years of age on them, and the clarifiers have anywhere from 25 to 45 years of age on them," Jim said, noting that lead times for replacement equipment can run roughly 26 to 52 weeks.
Jim said the likely timeline is to engage a consultant in 2026, pursue procurement in 2027 and expect installation and spending no sooner than a year from now. The board flagged the replacement work as likely six-figure capital projects and directed staff to return with a proposal and budgetary estimates.
