Orange County BOER approves multiple appraisal changes, revises several appealed values

The Orange County Board of Equalization and Review heard more than a half-dozen individual property appeals on June 30 and issued decisions on each. Chair Leon Meyers called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM; after hearing appraiser presentations the board accepted county recommendations on multiple appeals and revised others, with all motions passing on unanimous 3–0 votes.
Appellants included Leidy Carolina Ardila-Clavijo, Yvette Nurse-Parrish, Yongchun Zeng, Brian Dangler, Laura Sandt, Mary Dow, Evelyn Stapleton and Shelby White. Notable outcomes: the board set the value for PIN 9799028061.097 at $131,600 (no change), revised PIN 9861011242 to $553,600 (appellant asked $450,900; prior value $573,400), and set PIN 9861682958 at $21,000 following an appeal based on land condition. Motions were moved and seconded by board members Richal Vanhook and Saru Salvi; each formal motion recorded a 3–0–0 vote in favor.
The board approved the consent agenda with exceptions and scheduled follow-up hearings where needed. The BOER also recorded an action requesting staff to present a sales/equity analysis with non-consent appeals going forward. "Meeting called to order at 1:00: PM by Leon Meyers," appears in the minutes as the formal opening of the session.
Next procedural steps include the county presenting any proposed DRSFR valuation adjustments to the BOER prior to any public presentation and the board's planned post-adjournment hearing dates in August.
