The Pendleton School District 16R Board of Directors appointed Jill Pace to fill the board’s vacant Position No. 3 and swore her into office during its Nov. 18 regular meeting.
Chair Patrick Gregg led Pace in the oath of office. The board recorded that the appointee will serve until June 30, 2027, and that the seat will be on the ballot at the next regular district election (the next special election in Umatilla County is scheduled for May 2025). After taking her seat, Pace participated in the remainder of the meeting.
Directors then elected Beth Harrison as board vice‑chair for the remainder of the 2024–25 school year. Director Ryan Lehnert moved the nomination and Director Preston Eagleheart seconded; the motion carried unanimously. No vote tallies other than 'unanimous' were recorded in the minutes.
