Business Manager Tara Garratt told the board the projected ending fund balance is approximately $1.8 million, higher than earlier projections and allowing additional funds to be carried forward. She said regular monthly budget reports were not included in the packet because staff have been focused on budget development.
Technology staff member Rusty reported that Chromebook prices have risen and inventory is limited, prompting staff to repair existing devices to keep students equipped. He also described the Connected Seniors program at the Port Orford Library, which pairs 10 seniors and 10 students and produces letters of recommendation for participating students. Rusty said he is evaluating the district's server room with the ESD to identify safety and compliance improvements.
