Board strikes stipend policy, approves first readings and IKF graduations policy
Summary
The board removed Policy BHD (Board Member Stipends and Reimbursements), approved a slate of first-reading policies (items 1–38) and approved IKF and IKF-AR on first reading; motions passed unanimously.
During the policy review portion of the meeting the board worked through a large set of OSBA-recommended policies. Bob Brown moved to strike Policy BHD (Board Member Stipends and Reimbursements); Carol Hacherl seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board then voted to approve first-reading action items 1–38 and separately approved policies IKF and IKF-AR on first reading, with motions passing unanimously.
Board members discussed which policies should be retained and which removed; Carol Hacherl sought clarification between Policy 39 and 40, and the board decided to remove #40 and retain #39. The minutes record that the policy committee will continue working with OSBA on the rewrite. No second readings or final adoptions occurred at this meeting.
