Board adopts new K–8 curriculum, cites teacher support for materials

On April 20 the board voted unanimously to adopt new curriculum materials: a K–5 package and McGraw Hill materials for grades 6–8. Lisa Wendel reported teachers provided positive feedback during the review period and said she "highly recommends the content due to its hands-on activities and student engagement opportunities." Carol Hacherl asked whether community feedback had been received; Lisa said the materials were available for review but no community feedback had been submitted.
Board member Bob Brown moved to approve the adoption and seconded motions carried without opposition. The district did not record any requested amendments to the materials at the meeting. The curriculum adoption will be implemented according to normal staff and classroom timelines.
