Representatives from the Rotary Club and Pacific High School's Interact Club presented a plan to install two Peace Poles in the district—one at Driftwood and one at Pacific High School—and invited students and Rotarians to a dedication ceremony. Mike Hewitt described the history and purpose of Peace Poles and said Rotary would fund the project.
Interact Club members in attendance voiced support for the proposal. The board did not take immediate action other than to record the proposal; future agenda follow-up (peace poles) was listed among suggested future items.
