Parents question club oversight and object to book passages during public comment

Parent Brittney Huggins said that her child and other students who read a community author's book felt uncomfortable because of depictions of domestic violence and rape, and she said she did not believe the content was appropriate for teenage girls. The board closed the public comment period after three minutes per speaker, as reminded by Board Chair Korinn Hockett.
