Commissioners authorize multiple service and equipment contracts, including Sedgwick amendment and new Bobcat forklift

The court authorized an amendment to the county's Sedgwick workers' compensation agreement (through 2028), approved purchase of a Bobcat forklift for the detention center and authorized Johnson Controls chilled-water and central-plant control upgrades. The court also approved a lease for the regional public defender office.
The commissioners approved an amendment to the service agreement with Sedgwick Claims Management Services for workers' compensation claims management, extending the arrangement through 2028, as presented by HR Director Melanie Hall.
Facilities staff asked the court to authorize purchase of a Bobcat G25 E7 LP forklift to replace a 16-year-old unit at the detention center; Nathan Harvey said the purchase was budgeted for 2026 and is necessary for operations. The court also authorized a chilled-water loop upgrade at the detention center and approved replacement and reprogramming of central-plant controls after a leak damaged existing panels. The court approved a new one-year lease (with four option years) for the regional public defender's office at 916 Main. Each item was moved, seconded and approved without further amendment on the record.
