Board approves consent agenda, unanimously appoints four to budget committee

The Silver Falls School District 4J board approved its consent agenda and later appointed four candidates to fill vacancies on the district budget committee during its regular meeting Feb. 9.

Director Wally Lierman moved to approve the consent agenda, which included minutes from the Jan. 12 and Jan. 26 meetings; Vice Chair Derrick Foxworth seconded and the motion "passed unanimously" with Chair Phil Wiesner, Foxworth, Daniel Cote, Sarah Dalisky, Kasshawna Knoll, Josh Ort and Lierman recorded in favor. Later in the meeting, Director Daniel Cote moved to appoint all four budget committee candidates; Director Knoll seconded and the board again voted unanimously.

The board did not identify which of the candidates will serve particular terms in the public minutes; the action was recorded as a collective appointment of four candidates to fill the four vacancies. The appointments follow the discussion item during which three of the four candidates introduced themselves to the board. No public testimony was offered on the appointments.
