The mayor told the council that Midwestern Engineers will be on the agenda for the next meeting to present plans for an East Side plant and the associated lift-station infrastructure that will be needed. The presentation is intended to explain project stages and funding considerations and to ask the council whether it wishes to proceed to the next phase.
"Midwestern engineers will be here at the next meeting to, talk about that plans and not only the plant plans, but, the infrastructure with the, lift stations that has to be done," the presiding officer said. He indicated the council will be asked whether to proceed and that the full scope and funding discussion will follow in future meetings.
Council members noted the city is approaching capacity at the existing West Side plant and that planning for expansion is a multi-year process; staff will invite the engineering team to present options and cost estimates for council consideration.
