Board hears student highlights: FBLA wins, robotics growth, arts and dual-credit expansion

Trustees received multiple positive reports about student programs. School leaders and a student presenter highlighted Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) achievements, spring athletics schedules, the growth of the robotics program (from about a dozen students to over 20), and arts festivals that brought additional schools to Seaside.
Staff and students also discussed academic opportunities: the district reported over 400 dual-credit credits earned through Clatsop Community College in 2024–25 and plans to add 10 more articulated courses next year. Staff described a collaborative regional grant that would launch a medical assistant program in 2027 serving area high schools, developed in partnership with the Northwest Regional ESD and Providence Hospital.
A robotics volunteer told the board the team now “blew up” in size and described how hands-on projects let students apply classroom math and engineering in tangible ways.
