Stanfield FFA students tell board membership, activities and SAE assets have surged

Students from the Stanfield FFA chapter briefed the Stanfield SD 61 board on a sharp increase in participation and student‑owned project value.
"As of 2021, we had 13. And now for 2024, we had 76," said Hannah Land, identified in the presentation as the chapter president. Students gave a series of figures they said show growth in engagement: journal hours were reported to have risen from 3,146 in 2021 to 13,735 in 2024, and the value of student SAE (supervised agricultural experience) assets was reported at $166,000 in 2024 compared with $55,000 in 2021.
The students described their CDE (career development events) and LDE (leadership development events) participation, listing events such as soil evaluation, ag sales and public speaking, and said the chapter placed in multiple district competitions. "We placed 1st in soils this last fall," one student said while others noted green‑hand and banner placements.
Board members thanked the students and moved on to the rest of the agenda; no board action was required on the presentation.
