Students from Silverton High School updated the board about recent national successes at the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis. Chase Stoddard, chapter president, said the chapter earned a two-star rating in the National Chapter Award Program and thanked community supporters for enabling the work required to apply ("80 pages of documentation").
Travis Kinsey, Ag Mechanics treasurer, reported the team placed second at nationals; he listed individual results (Kinsey 3rd, Aiden Shecker 9th, Nathan Detweiler 13th, and the reserved rock team 30th). Aubrey (agronomy) said the team placed 6th nationally, described the intensive five-practicum structure and credited advisors Terry and Baker for coaching the teams. Board members congratulated the students and advisers and presented small gifts to those who attended the meeting.
Students emphasized the non-competitive benefits of FFA participation, including career skills and confidence development. The board noted the chapter's strong representation of Oregon at nationals and praised advisers and alumni support.
