City council liaison reports $3.2 million COG settlement, upcoming budget work session

Gloria Latimer, the city council liaison, told the URA that city council voted to approve a settlement with the COG for $3,200,000 to be paid within 14 days and said the settlement relieves the city of an annual appropriation obligation.
Latimer also announced a city council budget work session on Aug. 15, confirmed Nate Moore as the new finance director and reported that a 2 million‑gallon water tank should be filled, which provides greater confidence in local water supply planning. She noted the Highway 24 sign discussion was tabled at Council and would be on their next work session agenda.
