Tony told the board donors must have at least 12 days available and may donate up to two days each; the board-administration procedure would be overseen by staff. A motion to approve the request was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
Board members discussed potential workplace tensions if some employees opt out of donating while others request hours; one member asked whether touching union bank hours would require union permission. Staff clarified that bargaining-unit sick banks are administered by their committees and this board-level bank applies only to non–bargaining-unit employees or those not otherwise eligible. The board approved the request as written, with the 50-day cap specified in the motion.
