Board assigns committee roles and school engagement responsibilities for the year

At the Aug. 21 retreat, Chair Blake Petersen outlined committee structures and school engagement assignments for the 2025–26 school year. The approach will have each board member focus on different schools across a four-year term; members were asked to notify the superintendent before day visits and to develop committee charters as their initial work product.
Petersen said committee charters should state purpose and suggested working with the board secretary to draft them. The board formally recorded committee assignments during the retreat and staff will assist with next steps to stand up committees and integrate their work into the board calendar.
