Niskayuna staff: consultants advancing government climate action plan, greenhouse-gas inventories complete

Laura, representing planning staff, told the Conservation Advisory Council that consultants Jim Yanger and Ava Hoskins of Climate Action Associates are working through department interviews and are drafting a government climate action plan that will later be shared with department heads and the CAC for public review. "He was putting stuff together... I think he's probably in the range of, like, 75% done with that," Laura said of consultant work.
Council members discussed how the plan fits into Bronze Climate Smart Communities certification and noted two open Climate Smart grants: one funding the government climate action plan and another funding sidewalk work. Staff said the town has already completed government and community greenhouse-gas inventories, and that the next step toward higher certification (silver) would require additional community outreach and projects.
