The Centennial School District Board paused its regular business on May 14 to recognize staff and students for recent honors.
Superintendent James Owens introduced Deven Kautz, a teacher at the Centennial Transition Center, who was named Excellent Teacher of the Year at the Oregon Statewide Transition Conference. "Ms. Kautz expressed her gratitude and said she was honored to receive the award," the minutes record. The Board also heard from CHS student leaders Lashmey Kitthisane and Kler Say about earning the OASC Gold Standard Student Council designation and introduced incoming student board representatives Yahir Castro and Easton Hopkins.
Chief Communications Officer Christine Andregg presented the 2024–2025 Triple C Awards to Erin Buehler (Meadows Elementary), Renaldo Alexander (Oliver Middle School) and Annie Garcia (Butler Creek Elementary); nominators offered remarks and awardees shared brief gratitude statements.
